show all Tiger Darrow was born in Dallas, Texas and through a quirk of fate ended up on the "Third Coast" in Austin, Texas. She spent a great deal of time from the age of 4-6 creating "forts" under her mother's make-up tables while her mother (Peyton Hayslip) performed in stage productions. When she was 4 years old she began to dabble in Irish Step Dancing and went on to win a number of first place medals as a dancer, but at the age of 6 she got her first part in a play as the voice of "Daphne" in Blythe Spirit, and from then on she was hooked on acting. She performed principal roles in a number of plays including the role of "Ariel" in The Tempest at the State Theater Company, "Nicolette" in the world Premier of Le Petomane at the Vortex Theater, "Tiny Tim" in A Christmas Carol for OnStage Theater Co., and as herself in Hold On To Your Dreams for thistlemouse productions... all in Austin. At the age of 8 she was cast as an extra in Robert Rodriguez' Spy Kids 2, and then at 10 in Spy Kids 3-D, and at 11 in The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl. In the meantime she played the lead role of Julia in Spencer Parsons' short film Error of Type Zero, and the lead role of Young Hilda in Yorick, Fool of Denmark, directed by Johnny Stranger and produced by Fools Guild Productions. Her voice is frequently heard in the English version of Japanese Anime cartoons produced in the US by ADV. Tiger is also a published cartoonist, and enjoys playing guitar, cello, and writing.
