show all Lee Wilkof has spent his career dividing his time between the stage and the big and small screens. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati in 1973, he moved to New York City where he began his acting studies with Austin Pendleton at H.B. studios. After doing small roles in various off-off Broadway productions he appeared in The Present Tense, a comedy revue which he co-wrote. Norman Lear attended a performance and brought Lee to the West Coast in 1978 where he began appearing in television series (Hart to Hart, Delta House among others) and small roles in films (Serial, The Entity) In 1982 he auditioned for the role of Seymour in an Off-Off-Broadway show called Little Shop Of Horrors. It was on this show that Lee met his wife-to-be Connie Grappo and established himself as a musical comedy actor. For the next 10 years he worked on both coasts appearing in such films as This Boy's Life, and Chatahhochie, television series Max Hedroom, Newhart and many more. He also appeared on Broadway in Sweet Charity directed by Bob Fosse, and several other shows Off-Broadway. In 1992 Lee, Connie and their daughter Perrie returned to the east coast where Connie attended Yale Drama School. Lee continued to work on Broadway in such shows as She Loves Me, and Kiss Me Kate for which he was nominated for a Tony Award. He continued to spend time in L.A. recurring for several seasons on Ally McBeal, and appearing in the films Private Parts, School of Rock and The Grey Zone. Lee, Connie, and Perrie currently reside in Brooklyn NY. Connie teaches acting at Yale University and is the artistic director of The Working Theater. Lee appeared in the 2005-2006 Broadway revival of The Odd Couple and has worked in the films Old Loves and Before the Devil knows You're Dead.
