At the age of two, Austin started to spell words and recognize five digit numbers by name. By four, he had taught himself to read books. In kindergarten, he easily solved math word problems, and computed fractions, percentages, square-roots and the like! During first grade, Austin was given an IQ test and scored 99.9%. Austin is therefore, literally, a genius! He went on to skip second grade and still maintains a perfect report card. Although Austin is very gifted, he is also just a normal kid. He likes to hang out with friends, and he plays on several sports teams, including basketball, and his favorite - baseball. He's an avid video gamer, and also likes to play Scrabble, Battleship, Chess, Cards, and lots of other games. He is perfecting some snowboarding tricks, and in his spare time relaxes with a good book. Austin has been told that he is a natural at acting, and most enjoys being on a set. He thrives on hard work, and takes his jobs very seriously. He has a photographic memory (which helps with learning lines!) and likes nothing better than working for a great director and with other actors who share his enthusiasm for the profession. He is a true professional who takes pride in his work. On the set of The Good Shepherd, Austin told his "father" Timothy Hutton that he would like to break the actor's record for being the youngest male Academy Award winner. Don't be surprised if he achieves that goal. Austin has always set high standards for himself. Given the opportunity, he will do everything possible to reach his dream. Award winning Directors, Actors, Casting Directors, Crew members, teachers, friends and relatives have all told Austin that he is "amazing". But the most amazing thing is that Austin doesn't think so. He is just a sweet and happy kid who loves his family (including his younger sister Amber Joy who is an aspiring actress) and his dog; likes spending time with friends; and feels lucky to be an actor. He can't wait for his next part, and the chance to break that record! He still has a good decade or so to do so. hide |
